Eternal Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church

  1. The Holy Scriptures are the Word of God. (Verbal and Plenary inspiration 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16) The Holy Scriptures have been preserved by God in all Their truth and purity to this day (Matthew 24:35, 1 Peter 1:25, Isaiah 40:8) These Holy Scriptures are found in the Hebrew Masoretic text of the Old Testament and the Greek Textus Receptus of the New Testament. We also hold that the King James Version of 1611, being based on the aforesaid texts, is the most faithful translation in the English language.
  2. God as He has revealed Himself: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; three divine persons, equal in power, majesty, and eternity, but of one and the same divine essence. (The Triune God Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Numbers 6:24-26, Isaiah 48:16)
  3. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, is also true man, born of the Virgin Mary. (John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16, Colossians 2:8-9)
  4. All people are born in sin, prone to error, and doomed to hell unless rescued by God Himself. (Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12)
  5. Salvation comes by grace through faith in the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, who shed His Holy blood for us. (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:24-25, 1 John 1:7)
  6. Saving faith is wrought, strengthened, and preserved, by the Holy Ghost through the means of grace, that is, the Word and the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, not by our works but by God's work. (1 Corinthians 6:11, 1 Corinthians 12:3, Romans 10:17, Galatians 3:26-27, Acts 22:16, Matthew 26:26-28)
  7. The business of the Church is the preaching of the Word of God, Law and Gospel. (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15) The Church is not here to compete with retailers and restaurants. (John 2:14-16, Mark 11:15-17)

We endeavor, with the help of God, to continue in the old paths, where is the good way, and to abide in the Doctrine of Christ! Jeremiah 6:16, 2 John 9
